Digi-Leaders and Mrs Brana

Digi-leaders are a committee group. Pupils choose to be in a committee group. We meet every three weeks and in February we all took part in Safer Internet Day.  The 2024 edition of Safer Internet Day took place on Tuesday, 6 February 2024.

This special celebration, which takes place in February of each year, aims to raise awareness of a safer and better internet for all, and especially for children and young people. Digi-Leaders were involved in two assemblies this week to ensure that pupils at St Mellons C/W Primary School know how to stay safe when using the internet.

Foundation Phase learnt what to do if they see something that upsets them online and the rest of the school learnt how technology has advanced over the years and how it influences us. Digi-Leaders taught year two to year 6 about positive and negative influence and what to do if we see or hear something online that makes us feel upset, worried or uncomfortable. Two of our school governors were present and they learned a lot about how to stay safe on the internet too!

We were also lucky to talk to Evie's mum and discover how I.T. is used in her job.
